About us
Bookit was originally started in 2009, by two BCom Accounting students, as Salt & Pepper Publishing (which was rebranded in 2013 to Kourse Publishing as we know it now).
The business grew out of the need for a more affordable alternative to the traditional monopoly held by the major bookstores. By sourcing information directly from lecturers, negotiating with suppliers and publishing certain titles in house, we were able to give students their books at unbeatable prices.
In 2016, we separated our bookstore from our publishing operations. Bookit is now a stand alone entity which services students in the Hatfield area specifically students at the University of Pretoria but also sells to students countrywide. Kourse Publishing remains responsible for the publishing and distribution of our published titles.
We strive to maintain our foothold in the accounting arena by continuously striving to remain more affordable than our closest competitors and by making sure that we save students time by having up-to-date information regarding their course needs.
